I believe in creating spaces where you can be yourself- places where you can sit back, pour yourself a cup of tea and settle in for some honest, meaningful and authentic conversation. It is important to me that you feel like you can take a deep breath and let go of the need to perform or mask and simply show up as you are. And maybe in order for you to feel that comfortable, you need to know a little more about me.
My whole life I’ve always been curious, loving and deep! I have lived through a lot of life experiences for one human; trauma, loss and addiction to name a few. I like to really get to know people, myself included, so I have done my own healing work and continue to. I engage people with compassion and empathy, knowing that I am seeing a side of folks that the world doesn’t always get to see.
I value human, heart centered connections. The human experience is often shaped by our connections with others, and the quality of these relationships deeply impacts our emotional and psychological well-being. I place great importance on the idea that life is not a solitary endeavor. I am with you on this journey so that you are seen, heard and valued. I offer a therapeutic approach rooted in trauma informed, client-centered principles. I understand the importance of trust in the therapeutic process. In therapy, I prioritize a supportive environment where clients can process and move through their life experiences at their own pace.
I have completed my Master of Social Work degree, have my Psychology undergraduate degree and hold diplomas in Human Services Counselling and Early Childhood Education. I am a Certified Grief Counsellor and Advanced Certified Clinical Trauma and Addiction Specialist. I have over 25 years of experience working in the counselling profession with diverse populations.
